Behind Pride: The workers and volunteers of London’s Pride march 2026

Tens of thousands of people gathered to march through central London from midday on 4th July 2026 in celebration of and solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. Draped in rainbow flags, music, colour and protest, the parade is one of the UK's largest annual public events. Yet long before the march began, an often-overlooked workforce of volunteers, stewards, security staff, medics, organisers, marching bands and merchandise sellers had already been working behind the scenes to make it possible.

This photo story documents the people whose labour, coordination and care underpin London Pride, highlighting the individuals whose work makes one of the UK's largest public celebrations the success it is.
